The wound simulator is a full-size model of an adult male (with observance of anatomical details), made of silicone. The model is designed for diagnosing wounds, practicing first aid skills for multiple and combined injuries to various areas of the body and organs.
The following injuries are presented:
- Scalp wound (Intended for practicing applying bandages).
- Gunshot shrapnel wound of soft tissues of the anterolateral surface of the neck on the right with damage to large vessels (carotid artery and jugular vein). (Intended for practicing finger pressure on the vessel along the length, technique of applying a hemostatic tourniquet with a counter-stop from improvised means, technique of tight tamponade of the wound using Chitosan-based products, applying a bandage).
- Penetrating wound of the left shoulder (in the upper third) with damage to the brachial artery and shoulder joint. (Intended for practicing finger pressure of the vessel along the length, the technique of applying various types of hemostatic tourniquets and compression devices, the technique of tight tamponade of the wound using Chitosan-based products, applying a pressure bandage to the shoulder and a bandage to the shoulder joint).
- Thermal burn (flame) III-IV degree of the left forearm with an area of 2-2.5%. (Intended for practicing the tactics of patients with burn injuries – determining the area and degree of the burn, as well as practicing the technique of applying aseptic dressings to the limbs).
- Damage to the right hand with partial rupture and destruction. (Intended for practicing the technique of applying dressings for severe hand injuries).
- Through wound of the chest on the right. (Intended for diagnosing chest wounds, practicing the technique of applying various types of dressings to the chest, including occlusive ones, as well as sealing stickers of various types).
- Penetrating abdominal injury with eventration (prolapse) of intestinal loops. (Designed to practice the technique of applying bandages in case of abdominal injury with multiple prolapse of internal organs in various sections).
- Multiple soft tissue injuries of the left thigh (in the upper and middle third) with damage to large vessels (femoral artery, vein). (Intended for practicing finger pressure on the vessel along the length (femoral artery in the inguinal fold area), techniques for applying various types of hemostatic tourniquets to a complex anatomical area and compression devices, techniques for tight tamponade of the wound using Chitosan-based products, applying a pressure bandage to the thigh), techniques for controlling the applied tourniquet.)
- Multiple soft tissue injuries of the inner surface of the right thigh in the middle third with damage to the femoral artery. (Intended for diagnosing the most dangerous injury of the existing ones, practicing finger pressure on the femoral artery in the area of the inguinal fold and along the upper third of the thigh, choosing the technique for applying various types of hemostatic tourniquets or Chitosan-based products, the technique for applying a pressure bandage to the thigh).
- Rupture and destruction of the left lower limb at the level of the lower third of the shin. (Intended for diagnostics and provision of assistance (full examination of the victim’s body to identify additional injuries characteristic of this type of injury, practicing choosing the technique for applying various types of hemostatic tourniquets or Chitosan-based products, the technique of applying a bandage to the limb stump, performing transport immobilization in case of limb avulsions).
- Chop wound of the upper third of the right leg. Open fracture of the bones of the right leg. (Intended for diagnostics and provision of assistance in case of open fractures, application of bandages and performance of transport immobilization in case of injuries to the lower limbs).
- Extensive lacerated bruised wound of the soft tissues of the left gluteal region and the posterior surface of the upper third of the left thigh. Damage to the gluteal artery. (Intended for provision of assistance in case of wounds and injuries to complex anatomical areas, tamponade of deep wounds with a narrow wound channel and several cavities, the technique of applying Chitosan-based products and bandages to complex anatomical areas).
The simulator is intended for use in medical educational institutions.
